8% of Yukos Auctioned

MOSCOW () -- Russia has auctioned nearly 8 percent, or around 520,000 shares, in oil group Yukos at 222,272.73 rubles ($44.30) a share, the Federal Securities Corporation said Thursday.

At the auction 98.75 percent of the 527,708 shares on offer, amounting to a 7.96 percent stake, were sold, it said in a statement. The starting price of the shares was 200,000 rubles per nominal value of 1,000 rubles.The corporation did not say who had bought the shares. Bank Menatep acquired a 78 percent stake in Yukos last year.
