Suspect Pleads Innocent

HACKENSACK, New Jersey () -- A Russian immigrant who was caught dumping bags of body parts in a New Jersey river has pleaded innocent to conspiracy to commit murder. Bail was set at $1 million.

Vladimir Zelenin, 40, was arrested Sunday by Officer Richard Freeman, who said he saw the suspect returning from the Passaic River wearing a bloodstained plastic glove on his right hand and blood on his pants.

Zelenin, his hand bandaged and speaking through an interpreter, pleaded innocent Monday to charges of conspiracy to commit murder. Authorities have tentatively identified the victim, but did not release his name.
