Loan on IMF Agenda

MOSCOW -- Disbursal of the $340 million April tranche of Russia's new $10 billion, three-year loan from the International Monetary Fund is expected to be on the IMF board's agenda Friday in Washington, Interfax reported.

It quoted Thomas Wolf of the IMF's Moscow office as saying the board will review Russia's compliance with terms of the loan, which it is doing on a monthly basis, and should make a decision on the April installment.

IMF officials last week expressed concern over Russia's compliance with the loan terms, but have since indicated they are satisfied with Moscow's progress.
