Bank Eyes Lithuania

VILNIUS () -- Poland's Kredyt Bank, which recently opened a representative office in the Lithuanian capital, is thinking of investing in troubled bank Litimpeks, bank officials said Thursday.

Litimpeks was one of the top two Lithuanian banks to have their operations suspended by the Central Bank in December, sparking a banking crisis.

Foreign banks are not allowed to operate branches in Lithuania but can buy shares in Lithuanian banks.
