2 Killers, 2 Axes

NEWARK, New Jersey (x) -- Two people armed with axes waited for a prominent Russian cancer researcher to walk into their ambush, repeatedly struck him on the head and then dismembered him, a newspaper reported Thursday, quoting investigators.

Yakov Gluzman, 48, a Russian immigrant living in New York, likely was killed late Saturday night in his apartment by numerous ax blows to the head and then was meticulously dismembered by the killers with a hacksaw and knives, sources close to the case told the Record of Hackensack (New Jersey).

Gluzman's body was found in more than 65 pieces in eight plastic trash bags and the Passaic River. His body was positively identified Wednesday through dental records, and authorities said he died from "multiple sharp-force injuries to the head and torso."
