Pyramid Record Stands

MOSCOW () -- Nearly three months after they began building the world's largest bottle cap pyramid, and nearly a month after the last cap was placed, the Goryunov brothers received word from the Guinness Book of World Records on Monday that their pyramid will appear in the next edition of the book as the new world record.

"Thank God," Oleg Goryunov said Monday. "We couldn't be happier."

The pyramid, which was built at the Moscow Polytechnic museum, was made up of 400,905 bottle caps, or some 40,000 more than the previous record. It is still standing at the museum, where the brothers are leasing a side of it for use as billboard advertising.
