Poland NATO Agenda

WARSAW () -- Poland will try to persuade Russia in talks this week that Warsaw's desire to join NATO will improve and not threaten security in Europe.

The issue, which has caused tension between the two countries, tops the agenda for a visit to Warsaw by Russian Foreign Minister Yevgeny Primakov on Thursday and Friday, his Polish counterpart Dariusz Rosati said.

"We would like to persuade our Russian partners that it is in the interests of stability in Europe that we do not leave any gray area in the central part of the continent," Rosati said Monday.
