New Name Requested

MOSCOW () -- A metro station near the Kremlin may soon get a new name, dropping its tribute to an anarchist and being renamed after Christ the Savior cathedral, a news report said Wednesday.

Workers rebuilding the cathedral have formally asked Moscow Mayor Yury Luzhkov to rename the station, now called Kropotkinskaya after Pyotr Kropotkin, an anarchist who supported the Bolshevik revolution, Itar-Tass reported. Patriarch Alexy II supported their plea when he visited the construction site, the report said
