Indictment Expected

ST. PETERSBURG () -- A bill to indict the notorious Russian lawyer Dmitry Yakubovsky is expected to be approved in the next few days, Interfax quoted Deputy Petersburg Prosecutor Yevgeny Sharygin as saying Wednesday.

Criminal proceedings against Yakubovsky are now being considered by the city Prosecutor's Office, Interfax said.

Yakubovsky is charged with involvement in the theft of ancient manuscripts worth more than $100 million from the Russian national library in St. Petersburg. He was detained by the Petersburg Interior Department on Dec. 20, 1994.
