About 5.5 kilograms of cocaine with a street value of about $6 million were confiscated Tuesday night from a group of five Nigerians and two Ghanaians, Interfax reported.
The group was in transit on its way from Peru to Western Europe. Each of the seven smugglers had from half a kilo to one kilo of cocaine hidden in condoms in their stomachs, the agency said.
In a separate incident, police Tuesday seized one kilo of heroin with a street value of $1 million from a Benin citizen who was in transit from Vietnam. The smuggler had four plastic bags with heroin in a belt hidden beneath his underwear, the agency reported.
Over the weekend, two Brazilians were detained with 2.5 kilos of cocaine, which they swallowed in condoms. Two Nigerians arriving from Bogota were detained with nearly 1.5 kilos of cocaine.
