Thrill Not Gone: B.B. Is Back

Tickets are still available for this weekend's performance by the legendary American blues singer and guitarist, B.B. King, who is giving one show Saturday and two Sunday.

King, 70, will perform at the 4,800-seat Dinamo Sports Palace in northern Moscow. Tickets, which cost no more than 45,000 rubles (less than $10), may be purchased at central Moscow ticket kiosks or at the sports palace itself.

First in his native Mississippi, then throughout the United States and now internationally, King has been playing a style of electric blues that is as compelling as it is unique. Eclipsing fellow bluesmen like the late Muddy Waters, he has reached pop star status, touring with the Rolling Stones, U2, and scoring his own chart hit, "The Thrill is Gone."

He has played in Russia twice before, once 16 years ago on a U.S. State Department tour and then in December 1994. King arrives Friday in Moscow and will stay until Tuesday, when he departs for Budapest.
