Premier 'Likely' to Go

VILNIUS, Lithuania () -- Lithuanian Prime Minister Adolfas Slezevicius conceded Wednesday that he was likely to lose his job in a key parliamentary vote but defiantly refused to step down of his own accord.

Parliament is due Thursday to vote on a decree signed by President Algirdas Brazauskas to dismiss Slezevicius. The decree must receive the backing of a majority of Lithuania's 139-seat parliament in a vote likely to be close, as 65 deputies have said they will back the president.
