McVeigh Seeks Change

OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma () -- Oklahoma City bombing suspect Timothy McVeigh smiled as a packed courtroom watched a montage of television news stories played by his lawyers in their attempt to get his trial moved out of the state.

"The media coverage in Oklahoma has included demonizations of Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols," said Rob Nigh, one of the attorneys representing McVeigh.

But a prosecution witness said during the hearing Tuesday that surveys show McVeigh and fellow suspect Terry Nichols can get a fair trial inside the state.

The two former Army buddies are accused of plotting the April 19 blast which killed 169 people and injured more than 500 others. If convicted, they could face the death penalty.
