Granato Has Surgery

INGLEWOOD, California () -- Los Angeles Kings right wing Tony Granato has undergone surgery at the UCLA Medical Center to remove a blood clot from his brain, the National Hockey League team said.

"The surgery went very well,'' Dr. Neil Martin said in a statement issued by the Kings after Wednesday's four-hour procedure. "In this early postoperative period, he's recovering well.''

Granato, 31, had been experiencing headaches since Jan. 29, team spokesman Mike Altieri said.

Altieri said there has been no determination when, or if

n, Granato will return to action.
