cVeigh Trial Moved

OKLAHOMA CITY () -- Saying that a fair trial could not be guaranteed in Oklahoma, a judge Tuesday moved the trial of two men charged with last year's deadly bombing of a federal government office building to Denver in the neighboring state of Colorado.

"The interests of the victims in being able to attend this trial in Oklahoma are outweighed by the court's obligation to assure that the trial be conducted with fundamental fairness and with due regard for all constitutional requirements," U.S. District Judge Richard Matsch wrote.

The April 19, 1995, bombing killed 169 people and injured more than 500. Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols have been charged with murder and conspiracy. If convicted, they could face the death penalty.
