Cuban Doctors Arrive

JOHANNESBURG () -- Nearly 100 Cuban doctors arrived in South Africa on Tuesday to help meet a health care crisis.

The Cubans were welcomed by members of the ruling African National Congress chanting anti-American slogans.

The 96 doctors, on renewable one-year contracts, will serve in some of 2,000 vacant public health posts. Most will work in rural areas where locally-trained doctors are reluctant to serve.
