ABB in Uzbek Gas Deal

DAVOS, Switzerland () -- International engineering group ABB Asea Brown Boveri said it has received an order worth $250 million to help build a gas chemical complex in Uzbekistan.

The overall contract to build the Shurtan Gas Chemical Complex for the Uzbekneftegas National Corp., part of the country's oil and gas ministry, is worth about $500 million.

Japan's Mitsui and Co. Ltd. and Nissho Iwai Corp. have a combined $200 million share of the deal, with local Uzbekistan partners taking up the rest.
