Yeltsin Aide Denies 'Disciplining' NTV

By Sophia Coudenhove THE MOSCOW TIMES Presidential press spokesmen on Tuesday vehemently denied allegations by independent television company NTV that the station is being barred from the Kremlin as a disciplinary measure. ""It is absolutely not the case,"" said Yevgeny Baksheyev, of the presidential press service. ""It is artificial pressure and an attempt to make a mountain, if not a volcano, out of a molehill."" On Monday, NTV officials reported that the company would no longer be allowed into the Kremlin. NTV journalists were barred from a Kremlin ceremony Monday afternoon. NTV spokes-woman Tatyana Blinova said a man who identified himself as an employee of the presidential press service called the company with the news. ""He said that our Kremlin accreditation had been taken away indefinitely and that we should understand ourselves what the reasons were,"" Blinova said.
