Newspaper Editor Slain

VOLGOGRAD, Southern Russia () -- The editor of a new newspaper in the southern Russian city of Volgograd has been found dead, stabbed in the chest in a pedestrian underpass.

Sergei Semisotov, editor of Tavern on Fridays, was well-known locally for his work on the newspapers Mig and Novaya Gazeta, Itar-Tass said Thursday.

It said Semisotov's pockets and briefcase had been emptied and his shoes stolen. But police were not sure robbery was the motive for the slaying, the report said.
