New Coal Export Route

n ST. PETERSBURG () -- Russia plans to build a new coal export outlet on the Finnish Gulf near St. Petersburg as part of a government plan to increase the area's export capacity, Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Lobov said.

Lobov, speaking at a ceremony to launch the project, said the facility, at Ust Luga, would have an annual capacity of 8 million tons when completed by 1999. The project is part of a proposal to build a giant export terminal for dry goods at Ust Luga.
