New-Age Strays

SINGAPORE () -- Singapore has announced that it intends to tag all dogs on the island with microchips.

The government said Thursday the tags would help trace owners of the 5,000 stray dogs it impounds each year.

Under the scheme, all of Singapore's 37,000 licensed dogs would have tiny scannable microchips with unique identification numbers injected under the skin behind the left ear.
