Minsk Protesters March

MINSK, Belarus () -- Thousands of people have marched through the Belarussian capital to commemorate Soviet-era political victims and condemn the country's hard-line President Alexander Lukashenko.

"No to Fascism! Down with Lukashenko!" the protesters chanted Saturday as they marched across downtown Minsk, waving the banned red-and-white national flags and carrying pictures of Belarussian historical figures.

The protest of about 15,000 people, organized by the opposition Belarussian Popular Front, came to mark a religious holiday honoring ancestors.
