Light Streak Probed

NEW YORK () -- FBI agents are investigating a report by a Pakistani airline pilot that a streak of light rose into the air as he flew east from Kennedy Airport on Saturday night, in a report reminiscent of the alleged light streak that has fueled the missile theory in the July crash of TWA Flight 800.

James Kallstrom, head of the FBI probe into the TWA crash, confirmed FBI agents are investigating the report by the pilot of a Pakistan International Airlines flight to Frankfurt, Germany.

But a local astronomy expert said Sunday that a meteor shower was under way near the time of the pilot's report and could account for what he saw.
