Ferrari Denies Deal

MARANELLO, Italy () -- Ferrari denied Tuesday they had signed an agreement with the Swiss Formula One team Sauber over the supply of engine technology.

Ferrari spokesman Giancarlo Bac said the two teams were having talks about transferring its V10 know-how, though not finished engine units, but said no agreement had yet been signed.

Sauber claimed to have already reached a deal about the design and building of an engine, based on Ferrari technology, but Baccini stressed the development would be carried out by the Swiss team.

"We are not going to sell Ferrari engines, that is out of the question," he said.

"However, a car which which has been developed by Sauber using Ferrari's know-how is another matter."
