Sub Springs Leak

PETROPAVLOVSK-KAMCHATSKY, Far East () -- A Russian nuclear submarine in the Pacific took on water after one of its propellers broke, but no one was injured and the sub returned safely to base, a news agency said Monday.

The accident took place Oct. 17 when the unidentified sub was outside Russia's territorial waters on patrol, Interfax said. It didn't say what caused the propeller to break.

The water leaked inside the submarine, but the crew managed to contain it to just one compartment.
