Rebel Book Blocked

MOSCOW () -- Russian authorities have confiscated hundreds of copies of a book by Chechen rebel leader Zelimkhan Yandarbiyev, the separatists' chief spokesman charged Tuesday.

Movladi Udugov called the action "an unfriendly and hostile act" and demanded the immediate return of the seized copies of "Chechnya: Battle for Freedom."

The copies were among an edition of 5,000 printed in Ukraine and were bound for Chechnya when they were seized by a Russian customs office, Interfax reported. Udugov said the books were taken to Moscow.

The press service of Russia's State Customs Committee said it had no information about the incident.
