Polish Rate Cut Delay?

WARSAW () -- The higher-than-expected 1.9 percent rise in Polish consumer prices in September could delay a central bank interest rate cut until the first quarter of 1997, analysts said Tuesday.

Markets expected the CPI index to rise month-on-month 1.4 percent in September, while the finance ministry and central bank said the year-on-year index would fall to 19 percent from 20.5 percent in August.
