Official's Wife Fined

ATLANTA () -- The wife of the International Olympic Committee's vice president has been fined $2,000 for a run-in with an Atlanta police officer during the Olympic Games.

Julie Pound was arrested July 31 and charged with refusing to comply with a police officer, obstruction, using abusive language and simple battery.

Officer Leanne Browning said she was directing traffic in the downtown area about 12:30 a.m. when Pound and her husband, Dick Pound, began jaywalking. Browning said that when she ordered them to return to the sidewalk, Mrs. Pound cursed at her and kneed her in the groin.
