Killing Suspects Caught

VLADIVOSTOK, Far East () -- Two soldiers who disappeared after four members of their unit were murdered were captured Monday in the Far East after a massive hunt by police and the military, officials said.

A military spokesman, who declined to be named, said the two soldiers were captured by police on Sakhalin Island. The two soldiers did not resist, he said.

Privates Konstantin Krylov and Sergei Khrushch were being turned over to military authorities for questioning, the spokesman said.

Four members of an anti-aircraft defense unit were shot to death Oct. 10 at an airfield on Sakhalin, authorities said. A huge search was mounted for the two privates, who had been part of the guard unit and disappeared after the incident with several weapons, they said.
