Israeli Called Soviet Spy

JERUSALEM () -- The former trainer of Israel's national ping pong team has been charged with spying for the former Soviet Union, Israel's Channel 2 TV said Thursday.

Alexander Radelis emigrated to Israel from the Soviet Union in 1979 after being drafted and trained by the KGB, the report said.

For eight years, Radelis passed information on the Israeli army and Israeli politics to the Soviets by Morse code from his apartment in the Tel Aviv area, the report said.
