Wigan Wins Finale

LONDON () -- Leeds center Craig Innes scored three tries but titlist Wigan finished the final English rugby league Centenary Championship with a 34-20 victory over its biggest rival.

Wigan's Henry Paul, scored two tries and seven goals as the champion overpowered its Yorkshire rival at Central Park, and England wing Martin Offiah also crossed the Leeds line Sunday for his 28th try of the season.

Offiah's score meant he topped the try-scoring list for a record sixth season, beating Leeds' Eric Harris who did the feat five times in the 1930s and Warrington's Brian Bevan who finished top five times in the 1940s and 1950s.

With the big clubs switching to the Super League this summer, Sunday's games were the last in the history of the Centenary Championship.
