Swiss Free 3 Ukrainians

GENEVA () -- Swiss authorities have said they released from jail three top associates of former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yefim Zviagilski who were at the center of a financial scandal.

The Justice Ministry said Wednesday it had paid a total 50,000 Swiss francs ($43,500) in damages to the three men, imprisoned for about 15 months, and that more claims might follow.

The men -- the former head of Ukraine's state-run import-export firm and two top bankers -- were accused of helping former Zviagilski embezzle $25 million from the Ukrainian national bank to Swiss accounts.
