ATLANTA () -- While ticket buyers anxiously await their Olympic seating assignments, at least one person knows where he'll be sitting.

U.S. President Bill Clinton got a tour of the unfinished, $209 million Olympic Stadium on Monday, including a stop at the midfield section that includes the presidential box. Clinton did not comment, but smiled as he walked away.

As president, Clinton will officially open the 1996 Summer Games. Billy Payne, president of the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games, said afterward he didn't know if Clinton would attend any events other than the opening ceremony.

"He indicated the interest of his family in attending a significant number of events, and I assured him that they and he were quite welcome," Payne said.

Payne described the president as "impressed and inquisitive."
