Iran, Armenia Pledge

TEHRAN () -- Iran, Turkmenistan and Armenia have signed a pledge to cooperate in banking, trade and transportation affairs, Iran's official Islamic Republic News Agency reported.

It said the memorandum, signed Sunday in Tehran, the Iranian capital, foresees trade exchanges of up to $30 million between the three nations. No other details were available.

Turkmen President Saparmurad Niyazov, meanwhile, arrived in Tehran on Monday for a two-day visit during which he will meet with Iranian President Hashemi Rafsanjani.
