Diamond Exchange

MOSCOW () -- Russia may have a functioning diamond exchange within several months after its founders draw up registration documents later this month, Ararat Evoyan of the Association of Russian Diamond Producers said Thursday.

"The founders, including Russian Precious Metals and Stones Committee [Roskomdragmet], Almazyuvelirexport, representing the Finance Ministry and other Russian legal entities are due to meet before the end of January to set up the exchange formally," he said.

After that registration documents are to be approved, which normally takes several months, Evoyan said.
