Hungary Sell-Off

BUDAPEST () -- Hungary on Monday invited offers for stakes in the country's national electrical utility MVM Rt, a privatization which has been blocked for years by political wrangling.

Hungary is also offering 47.8 percent stakes in its six regional electrical power suppliers plus an option on acquiring a majority.

However, the government will retain a majority stake of the main MVM company, with only 24 percent on offer. The purchaser of this stake will have the right to raise the holding to 25 percent plus one vote.
