Gary Crosby Dies at 61

BURBANK, California -- Gary Crosby, son of the late entertainer Bing Crosby, has died at the age of 61.

The author, singer and actor died Thursday at St. Joseph's Medical Center. The family asked that no details, including the cause of death, be released, a nursing supervisor said.

In 1983, Crosby wrote "Going My Own Way," describing the difficulties of growing up in a famous family.

Bing Crosby, who died in 1977, won an Academy Award in 1944 for best actor as the easygoing Father O'Malley in "Going My Way." Gary Crosby also recorded several songs with his father.
