MOSCOW -- Robbers have made off with over $20,000 in two separate hold-ups, Interfax reported Friday.

A currency exchange at Leninsky Prospekt was robbed of $4,000 and 83 million rubles ($18,700) at 12:15 p.m. Thursday after robbers threatened employees with gun and a grenade before escaping in a BMW. Three hours later, a bank on Khersonovskaya Ulitsa was robbed of 800,000 rubles and $500. The thieves escaped in a Mazda.
