Caught Red-Mouthed

TULA, Central Russia () -- Just when Russians thought they'd endured it all, Itar-Tass have reported a bloody new mishap: a "vampire'' attack.

Police in the city of Tula arrested a 20-year-old man two hours after he dragged a drunken man into a town park, bit into his neck artery and sucked his blood, the agency said Wednesday.

The man was said to have told police he first drank human blood during his military service and had since committed several acts of vampirism.

The report noted soberly this was "the first case of vampirism in the history of the 77-year-old Tula police."
