Kiev Resignation Call

KIEV () -- Parliament voted to demand the resignation of Ukraine's prosecutor general, accusing him of having illegally privatized his apartment and ordered the phones of two lawmakers bugged.

"We cannot talk about justice in our country if the prosecutor general breaks the law," said Alexander Novikov, head of a parliamentary commission that investigated the case. But the prosecutor, Vladislav Dotsuk, denied the charges.

The Wednesday vote against Dotsuk on grounds of alleged abuse of power took place at a closed-door session.
