U.S. Prisoners in Hospital

BAGHDAD () -- Two Americans imprisoned for seven weeks were hospitalized after complaining they felt ill during a prison meeting with their wives, diplomats said Wednesday.

The exact nature of the ailments was not immediately known. One of the men, David Daliberti, is known to have a heart condition. In Washington, State Department spokesman Nicholas Burns said Tuesday that Daliberti, 41, and William Barloon, 39, were being treated for chest pains.

Barloon and Daliberti were arrested March 13 after crossing into Iraq from Kuwait, where they worked for U.S. defense contractors. Although they said they strayed over the border inadvertently, they were sentenced March 25 to eight years in prison.
