U.S. Growth Slows

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The U.S. government's chief forecasting gauge of future economic activity fell 0.5 percent in March, its biggest drop in two years and the first back-to-back declines in nearly three years.

The Commerce Department's report Wednesday supports recent evidence that economic growth is slowing from its rapid expansion last year. The index slipped 0.2 percent in February and was unchanged in January.
