U.S. Deficit Narrows

WASHINGTON ) -- America's foreign trade deficit narrowed slightly in March even though the trade gap with Mexico hit a record and the deficit with Japan worsened dramatically because of a rise in auto imports.

The Commerce Department said Thursday that America's overall deficit declined to $9.12 billion, a small improvement of 0.4 percent from the February deficit of $9.15 billion and basically in line with expectations.
