Post Bomb Kills One

FRANKFURT, Germany () -- One woman was killed Wednesday and 11 people were injured when a package bomb filled with metal screws exploded on a post office conveyer belt, police said.

Police spokesman Manfred Seist said it appeared the bomb was not intended to go off in the post office. "The way it looks it wasn't an attack against the post, but the package was supposed to be sent someplace,'' he said.

The package exploded shortly before 8 a.m. A 36-year-old woman working nearby was seriously injured and died at a Frankfurt hospital, Seist said.
