Nuclear Talks to Resume

SEOUL () -- North Korea has decided to restart talks with the United States on implementation of a major bilateral nuclear accord, in a move hailed by South Korea.

"North Korea's acceptance, without preconditions, of the U.S. proposal to hold higher-level talks indicates that the North wants to solve the reactor problem through dialogue. This is a good thing," South Korea's Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

The U.S. State Department announced Monday that North Korea had unconditionally agreed to new talks aimed at salvaging a landmark reactor agreement reached last October.
