Chemistry-Class Blast

TYUMEN, Western Siberia ) -- Twelve students were hurt by flying glass and toxic chemicals when an unsupervised chemistry experiment exploded Thursday at a Siberian school, Itar-Tass reported.

The blast occurred when students poured together two containers of chemicals that had been removed from a laboratory under repair at School No. 65 in the central Siberian city of Tyumen, 1,700 kilometers east of Moscow, the agency said.
