Kiev Pledges Reform

KIEV () -- Ukraine has signed a memorandum pledging to implement tough economic reforms, which should entitle it to a $1.3 billion loan from the International Monetary Fund, the finance minister said Friday.

Finance Minister Petro Hermanchuk said Prime Minister Vitaly Masol, temporarily in office after resigning this week, and Central Bank Chairman Viktor Yushchenko signed a memorandum Thursday to keep to a budget deficit of 6.4 percent of GDP and monthly inflation to 1 percent by the end of the year.
