Bombless Jet Flies On

OSLO () -- A Russian airliner that was forced to land in Norway due to a bomb threat took off for New York on Wednesday after police searched the plane without finding explosives.

Aeroflot flight SU315, with 158 people aboard, landed at the Gardermoen charter airport, north of Oslo, on Tuesday after a threat was phoned in to the airline's headquarters in Moscow.

"There is no doubt in my mind that the war between Russia and Chechnya was the reason for the threat," passenger Alex Key told the newspaper Arbeiderbladet during the unexpected 16-hour stop. Police said they did not know why the threat was made.
