Hunt Ban Progresses

LONDON () -- Britain's animal-lovers are preparing to celebrate a victory Friday, when a bill that would ban fox hunting and other blood sports looks like winning a cross-party majority in parliament.

Victory would not spell the end of fox hunting -- there are other parliamentary stages to go through, and time may run out for the bill -- but animal rights activists are convinced it is only a matter of time before the hunting and killing of foxes and other animals by hunters with packs of hounds is outlawed in Britain. A recent opinion poll found that 92 percent of Britons wanted their representatives in Parliament to support the bill.
