Rutskoi's President Bid

MOSCOW () -- Alexander Rutskoi, the former hardline vice president of Russia, has said he was definitely in the running for presidential elections next year, Interfax reported.

Rutskoi, leader of the Derzhava, or Great Power, movement, told Interfax he would run for the presidency even though he still considers himself acting president of Russia following the 1993 parliamentary revolt put down by Boris Yeltsin.

He told the agency that he alone among the potential candidates has the extensive experience in working in a presidential structure and will "easily tackle the job."
